Exkursion to Rörö - Final Seminar

The Island Rörö has large areas of mosaic land  of
heat lands and grasslands rich on species.

 

 
The Final seminar of the GRACE project was held  in Gothenburg on 26th-28th of August 2015. Excursions was made to Rörö (Natura 2000-site Sälöfjorden) with Roy Andersson and Hans Alexandersson and to Vendelsö (Natura 2000-site Vendelsöarna) with the guides Krister Larsson och Jeanette Hansson.

The Governor of Västra Götaland held an intresting lecture about the archipelago and the importance of grazing animals to save the biological diversity. The participants were from, municipalities, authorities, universities, entrepreneurs, landowners etc. The project presented some of the results, challenges and problems.

-Anne och Bengt Hermansson– Orust, Lyröns entrepreneurs  on grazing animals, natur conservation actions, etc
-Andreas Skriver Hansen – Research of outdor Life – Phd, Culture geography, University of Gothenburg,
-Mattias Lindholm – Doktorand, University of Gothenburg, research of management of heat lands and biodiversity
-Vikki Bengtsson – Ancient Tree Forum/Pro Natura, management and restorations of Ancient trees,

A number of small fishing boats took the participants to Vendelsö.
